A huge shout out to llamanation and megsdancemumblings, both of whom did wonderfully at the feis this weekend. Llamanation placed out of Prelims and is now in Open Championships! Good Job! Megsdancemumblings placed third in the same competition, and received a well deserved first place from one of the judges in her hard shoe round. Things were not so bad for me either - I placed first in my prizewinner reel and slip jig (mind you, there were not too many in my competitions). Not too shabby for two girls (MM and myself) who didn't practice!
A special thanks to those who came out on Sunday for the Culkin Adults fundraiser. Not only did we raise a good amount, but I got to see S & A and the kids and I finally got to meet the new Culkin twins. In fact, the room was teeming with Culkin families.
This fundraiser is a good lesson in what lies ahead should MM decide to take us to All Irelands next year. We will need at least 14 just as successful events in order to even begin to cover our costs. Daunting task.
But worth it.
